Úvod

Tester přilnavosti pásky ve smyku is used for determining the ability of pressure-sensitive tapes and labels to remain adhered under constant load applied parallel to the surface of the tape and substrate. The test provides a means of assessing the uniformity of the adhesive of a given type of pressure-sensitive tape.

Princip testu

Shear Adhesion to Standard Steel Panel: A strip of tape is applied to a standard steel panel under controlled roll down. The panel is mounted vertically, a standard mass is attached to the free end of the tape and the time to failure or the amount of slippage is determined.
It measures the ability of a pressure-sensitive tape to adhere to a standard steel panel under constant stress.

1. How the test result is recorded?
After the test time finishes, remove the weights. Use a magnifying glass with graduations to measure amount of slippage or record the time for the tape to separate completely from the panel.

2. How the test sample is prepared in the tape shear adhesion test?
Center the specimen parallel to the longitudinal axis of the two panels (test panel and loading panel, attaching it to the central part of the panels. Use the roller to roll the specimen at a speed of approximately 300mm/min or 10mm/s. It is important to note that during the rolling process, only the force generated by the mass of the roller should be applied to the specimen. The number of rolling cycles can be specified based on the specific product requirements; in the absence of specifications, perform three reciprocating rolling cycles.
